Egg sandwiches with mayonnaise dressing, “a little retro”

How to prepare a treat for a family celebration or a get-together with friends? We can try the classic egg and mayonnaise sandwiches, which you used to go to the milk bar for. Garnished with capsicum, a slice of cucumber and fresh parsley, they will be irresistible.

  • 10 slices of cucumber
  • 10 slices of ham
  • 5 hard-boiled eggs
  • For decoration:
  • sterilized cucumber
  • sterilized capsicum
  • parsley
  • For the salad:
  • 1 medium boiled potato
  • 150 g ham salami
  • 1 small boiled carrot
  • 1 piece of cooked celery
  • 1-2 sterilized cucumbers
  • 2 tablespoons sterilized peas
  • 100-150 ml mayonnaise
  • mustard
  • salt
  • ground pepper
  • a little pickle juice
  • Mayonnaise dressing:
  • 150 ml mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons cucumber pickle
  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered gelatin
  • 5 teaspoons boiling water
  • salt
  • ground pepper
  • a little sugar (to taste)
Method · 35 min
  1. First, prepare the salad. Finely chop or coarsely grate the potatoes, salami, and vegetables and mix with all the other ingredients.
  2. Season and let sit for a while.
  3. Pour boiling water over the gelatin and stir until dissolved.
  4. Mix the mayonnaise with the brine, salt and pepper.
  5. Add gelatin to the mayonnaise, spoonfuls at a time, until desired consistency is reached and mix. Adjust thickness with a few drops of milk if necessary.
  6. Cut the lid. Layer the salad on each slice, and place 1/2 of a boiled egg on one half.
  7. Wrap a slice of ham around the other half of the slice, garnish with a piece of bell pepper, cucumber and parsley leaf.
  8. Finally, pour the mayonnaise dressing over the egg on the sandwich.
