Couscous with dried fruits
Do you know how to make couscous with dried fruit? It's not only a delicious and filling dish, but also very healthy! So, it's a great addition to your diet. If you don't soak the dried fruit, you can serve this dish ready in just 10 minutes, as couscous doesn't require cooking.
Prepare all the necessary ingredients to make couscous with dried fruits.
Since my dried fruit was slightly dried out, I placed it in a bowl and poured hot water over it. After 15-20 minutes, it softened. Be sure to drain the water and rinse the dried fruit.
Place the couscous in a separate bowl and pour boiling water over it. Cover with a saucer. After 5-7 minutes, the couscous will steep and need to be sweetened. Honey, not just sugar, will work for this.
Add sugar and dried fruit—especially large ones can be cut into several pieces, like dried apricots. It's best to add prunes just before serving.
Mix everything thoroughly and divide into bowls – serve the couscous warm. Garnish each serving with dried or smoked prunes. The couscous with dried fruit is ready.
You can also add pitted dates, dried cherries, and figs to the garnish.
Bon appetit!
