As we can see, wonderful homemade crispy waffles are made from the simplest and most affordable ingredients.
Let's start making waffles by preparing the batter. Waffle batter is made very simply by combining all the ingredients.
Mix the egg with the sugar. Melt the butter (or margarine) and let it cool, then add it to the egg along with the kefir.
Queue for flour.
Mix everything together to form a thin waffle batter. We want the consistency to be about like pancake batter. Make sure to mix it thoroughly to avoid any lumps.
Let's get started with the waffle iron. Plug it in and heat it to high temperature (some electric waffle irons require the relay to be set to maximum). To bake the first waffle, grease the surface with a thin layer of vegetable oil. Continue baking without oil.
Pour 2 tablespoons of batter onto the preheated surface. No need to spread it—the batter will spread itself in the closed waffle iron.
Close the waffle iron and cook for a few minutes. I occasionally peek in—open the waffle iron's lock and check on my waffles. This way, I can control the level of browning: I can leave the waffles pale or brown them to perfection.
We immediately roll the hot waffle into a tube. After just a few seconds, we won't be able to do this anymore. We risk burning our fingers, so gloves are a good idea.
As you can see, the recipe for crispy waffles for an electric waffle iron is quite simple. We've got wonderful crispy tubes. What to do with them next is up to you. You can fill them with boiled condensed milk, or you can make some kind of cream for the filling. Or you can leave them as is. The waffle tubes are also delicious with jam, for example, raspberry. It's delicious, and most importantly, quick, easy, and economical.
