Violet Oon To Open New Peranakan Cafe At Temasek Shophouse In Orchard

Bibik Violet is a new Peranakan cafe by Violet Oon Group Peranakan food lovers can look forward to a new dining spot this month, as the Violet Oon Group launches Bibik Violet.

Violet Oon To Open New Peranakan Cafe At Temasek Shophouse In Orchard

This new Peranakan cafe and bakery will open at Temasek Shophouse in Orchard on 29 September 2025. Located at Block D of the heritage building, the cafe is part of Temasek Shophouse’s expansion as a social impact hub. The space is designed as a more casual and approachable concept compared to Violet Oon’s existing restaurants, while still focusing on heritage-inspired dishes.

The interiors feature rattan accents, vintage furniture, and original Peranakan tiles salvaged from shophouses dating back to the early 1900s. These elements are meant to reflect the warmth of a traditional Bibik’s kitchen, complementing the menu of familiar local favourites.

While Violet Oon restaurants are known for their refined take on Peranakan cuisine, Bibik Violet will serve a more casual all-day menu. Diners can expect classic Peranakan and local dishes, including nasi lemak, Nyonya laksa, prawn mee, kueh pie tee, and buah keluak pork ribs.

On the bakery side, highlights include orange sugee cake, signature Nyonya kueh, and other nostalgic bakes. Lighter options such as kaya toast and kopi will also be available, offering a nod to Singapore’s kopi culture.

Prices are expected to be lower than Violet Oon’s flagship restaurants, making Bibik Violet a more accessible way to enjoy Peranakan cuisine. After visiting Bibik Violet, drop by Foreword Coffee for a cup of joe.

This cafe, which has been at Temasek Shophouse since 2019, provides meaningful employment for persons with disabilities, including individuals with autism, hearing disabilities, and mental health conditions.
