The Pork and Beer fair returns from October 2 to 4

The Pork and Beer fair returns from October 2 to 4

The new edition consolidates the 'From square to square' format and vindicates the Manlleu product.

Judith Càlix

Between October 2 and 4, Manlleu will host the 33rd edition of the Pork and Beer Fair. Over the three days, visitors will be able to enjoy tasting stalls of pork products as well as other specialties. In addition, they will find a wide selection of local craft beers, a sales area, and tastings of local products at the Producers' Market.

This year's edition seeks to reinforce the 'From square to square' model that was implemented last year, which favors the distribution of activities and proposals between Plaça Fra Bernadí and Plaça de Dalt Vila.

Gastronomic offer

In the catering area, located in Plaça Fra Bernadí, you will find a varied gastronomic offer with proposals such as sausage sandwiches, flatbreads, croquettes and hamburgers, among others. The restaurants and establishments participating in this edition are: Colom-Vila, Thymus, Cal Teuler, Beive, Fussimanya, Sa Croqueta, l'Animal, and three new additions: the La Cabra restaurant, Vins Riera and GrecoBar.

However, the Manlleu Municipal Market will have a stand from which its cansaladers will offer sandwiches and other dishes. This will be in the Espai del Porc, where once again the pork roast and the preparation of derived sausages will take place, with comments from gastronomic divulgers Jordi Àvila (Saturday afternoon) and David Sanglas (Sunday morning).

At the same time, Plaça Fra Bernadí will host the most representative brewers in the region. In total, there will be twelve producers who will offer their craft beers with classic and more creative proposals: Montseny, Synera, Hoppit, La Canetenca, Ogham, Dual Lab Brewery, Poch's, Albera, Bierboi, La Micro cerveseria, Kibus Beer and Lava Beer.

Producers' market

For its part, the Producers' Market will have ten stalls. Among them we find the new Territori Manlleu stall. Led by Damià Bas, it will offer tasting and sale of cold cuts and products made in Manlleu, some of which have won national awards, craft beers and small plates with unique products from the territory.

In the Aula del Gust, guided tastings of craft beers and local cold cuts will be held, with a commitment to accessible activities designed for all audiences.

In addition, as usual, the fair invites the public to be part of the amateur jury that, through a tasting guided by Albert Sánchez, judge of the Beer Judge Certification Program, will select the three best beers of the fair.
