This is how you can make a delicious, refreshing summer drink from fig leaves, and it's alcohol-free too
– The story began with two fig trees that stand in the yard of our apartment building. A few years ago, I also involved my children in the harvest, and in the spring we collected the leaves together, of course with great care so that the trees remain undamaged.
Leaf & Sonic
Ingredients:
30 ml fig leaf cordial
carbonated water
low sugar tonic
ice
fresh lemon verbena leaves for decoration
Preparation:
Measure the fig leaf cordial into a long drink glass filled with ice.
Fill the drink with equal parts of carbonated water and low-sugar tonic water, then stir gently with a bar spoon.
Serve garnished with fresh lemon verbena leaves.
Fig leaf cordial
Ingredients:
1 kg granulated sugar
1 l filtered, still water
200 g fresh, large fig leaves
12 g citric acid
12 g of apples
4 g ascorbic acid
Preparation:
Mix the sugar and water, then heat until the sugar is completely dissolved!
Add the washed fig leaves and let them cool!
Then mix in the citric acid, malic acid and ascorbic acid!
Finally, filter it and store it refrigerated until use!
