This JB Cafe Lets You Chill With Cats While Enjoying Tiramisu Latte And Desserts

Everyone on the team knows how much I adore cats, and so on my recent trip to Johor Bahru, there was one particular cafe that I was most excited to visit: Meow Me Cat House. Interestingly, they don’t operate as a cat cafe; you don’t have to pay an entrance or cover fee.

Instead, it’s a cafe where you can chill over drinks and conversations with your friends while petting adorable furry friends. The current exchange rate is RM1 = ~S$0.31 as of 15 December 2025. Though there’s no entrance fee, you need to spend a minimum of RM8 to secure a seat in the cafe.

FYI, this is almost equivalent to the cheapest item on the menu: a cup of hot Americano. My colleague and I got two drinks and a cake to relish while playing with the cats. We were pleasantly surprised by their Tiramisu Latte (RM17), a bittersweet beverage featuring an iced latte topped with creamy mascarpone, cocoa powder, and ladyfingers.

This drink is great if you love coffee and have a sweet tooth! If sweet coffee isn’t your thing, get the stunning Fizzy Orange Americano (RM17) instead, which stars a layer of orange juice and Americano, garnished with dried orange. For those who haven’t tried this fruity coffee, think of it as a refreshing, citrusy quencher that’s perfect for JB’s humid weather.

Do note that the dessert menu is seasonal, which means you probably won’t get the same choices each time you visit. During our visit, we wanted to try their Matcha-Niko Neko Ajisai (RM21): Basque cheesecake made using the famous Niko Neko’s matcha powder.

Alas, it was out of stock during our visit, so we opted for the Basque Burnt Cheesecake (RM18) instead. This cake is fairly dense and creamy, so get it only if you really love cheesecakes.

Located in Mount Austin, Meow Me Cat House is on the second floor of a shophouse, along a stretch of other establishments. Do note that you’re allowed to pet and play with the cats, but please be gentle with them and keep your volume down at all times to avoid scaring them.
