HK Teppan Chain Bari Bari Opens Premium Concept With Famous Hotstone Steaks

Hong Kong’s cult-favourite teppan steak concept Bari Bari Steak is going upmarket.

The brand, which made its Singapore debut at Tampines 1 with hotstone steaks from $22.90++, is opening its first flagship concept, Bari Bari Grand, at The Capitol Kempinski. It’s a step up from the brand’s usual mall setup, with a wider menu and a more premium spread overall.

The Tampines outlet built its name on value, with affordable cuts and a free-flow salad bar bundled into every set. Bari Bari Grand keeps that same format but expands it significantly, adding premium offerings from land and sea, including the Lobster Thermidor and Lobster & Wagyu Hamburg. The complimentary Gourmet Salad Bar also gets an upgrade.

Instead of the usual greens and ready-to-eat sides including onion rings and macaroni salad, diners can expect artisanal additions such as Tuna Tataki, along with desserts featuring Warabi Mochi and Matcha Tiramisu. Diners can still expect the same hands-on format that made the original a hit: steaks seared medium-rare, then finished off on a hot stone at the table to individual preference.

For mains, the highlight is the A4/A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Teppan, available in cuts including Sirloin and Ribeye Round. At Tampines 1, this cut was the most premium item on the menu at $58++ for 160g.

Fun fact: the cut is a four-time winner of Japan’s National Wagyu Award, known for its exceptional marbling and buttery richness. Seafood also gets more attention at Bari Bari Grand, with Gindara Teriyaki and Salmon Mentaiko added to the lineup.

Premium appetisers such as Miyazaki Wagyu Tartare round things out, giving diners more starter options beyond the usual teppan sets. We’ll update this article with prices once we get more information!

Bari Bari Steak also recently opened an outlet at Junction 8, so check out our coverage to find out what’s on the menu there. And if you’re keeping an eye on your wallet, our guide to affordable steak buffets in Singapore is worth a look too.
