The Best Happy Hours in Austin for Affordable Drinks and Eats

There are the classics, like Uchi’s excellent sake social, the great deals on Jeffrey’s Monday evening menu, discounted Mexican seafood towers at Este, half-off Sunday martinis at Holiday, $3 tacos at La Condesa, and much more. This update adds Better Half, Lutie’s, Bill’s Oyster, Ramen Tatsu-ya, and Sour Duck.

Bufalina Due

This Brentwood Neapolitan pizzeria and wine restaurant and its East Austin counterpart offer half-off pizzas from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, but it doesn’t stop at the pies.

Diners can also score $5 draft beers, half-off wine bottles that are under $100, plus $5 pours of red, white, and rosé house wines. Happy hour is popular, so get there early.

The Peached Tortilla

From 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., you can feast like a king at this Allandale Southern-Asian fusion restaurant’s social hour, which is held inside and outside at the bar. In addition to its $9 happy hour burger, diners can enjoy $5 beers, $6 wines, $7 cocktails, $5 tacos, and $6 snacks, such as blistered shishito peppers and kimchi arancini balls.

The Cedar Park location has a similar deal, but from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Lutie’s

Head to the historic Commodore Perry Estate in Hancock for a daily happy hour that feels like an indoor garden party.

The social hour menu is available Tuesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the bar or on the patio, with an all-evening version on Mondays until 10 p.m. Expect half-off bottles of wine priced up to $200, along with discounted snacks like fritto misto, grilled Camembert, and crispy chicken wings.

Este

This Cherrywood Mexican seafood restaurant’s happy hour is packed with deals, including $25 off seafood towers, $15 off seafood platters, 50-cent oysters, and discounted fish tacos and ceviche. There’s also $10 margaritas and 25 percent off bottles of wine.

Catch it from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday in the dining room or on the expansive patio.

Salty Sow

Grab a seat on the covered outdoor seating and enjoy this Cherrywood New American restaurant’s happy hour, which runs from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. every day. Fill up on $6 tacos and appetizers, including triple-fried duck-fat fries with an egg, that run between $6 and $10.

For drinks, there are dollar-off draft beers, $2 off cocktails, and specials on house wines by the bottle and the glass.

Jeffrey’s

Want to try this fine dining destination in Clarksville, but not up for dropping the serious bucks required? The happy hour menu, which features 25 percent off glasses of wine and bar food, is available only on Monday evenings from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. within its swanky, intimate lounge.

Sundays get even better with 50 percent off bottles of wine all night. Be sure to try the decadent dry-aged prime wagyu burger for a good deal.

Sour Duck Market

This Blackland cafe, bakery, and beer garden serves $6 burgers, $9 double-patty burgers, and $3 soft-serve sundaes during happy hour.

Drinks include $6 select cocktails like turmeric mules, $1 off wine, draft beer and cider, plus $3 Lone Star cans. Catch the deals daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Better Half Coffee & Cocktails

Head to this Old West Austin cafe for a happy hour featuring $7 cheeseburgers (beef, chicken, or vegetarian), $4 drafts of St. Elmo Brewing Co.’s Carl Kolsches, $3.50 Miller High Lifes, and $6 glasses of sangria.

The deals are available from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

Parkside

Downtown’s Parkside may have gotten a refresh during its renovation, but its beloved happy hour remains the same. The modern American restaurant serves one of the best deals in town with half-off oyster platters, crab fritters, bacon cheeseburgers, cocktails, and beer.

The specials run weekdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., making it an easy spot for an after-work bite or drink.

La Condesa

Downtown’s swanky Mexican restaurant makes weekday happy hour an easy choice with half-off cocktails, beer, and wine from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The bar menu also includes $3 tacos filled with options like al pastor, fish, and mushrooms. On Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the half-off drink deals extend throughout the restaurant.

Bill’s Oyster

Happy hour at this intimate Downtown oyster bar is available daily from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Enjoy half-off bottles of wine and $2 off beers.

Martinis run $10, while food specials include $3 raw oysters, $6 hushpuppies, $12 tuna tartare, and $10 burgers. The sidewalk patio is ideal for people-watching, while the cozy interior is great for happy hour dates.

Ramen Tatsu-Ya

Whether it’s a quick ramen fix or a late-night craving, this noodle chain offers one of the city’s most generous happy hours across all six Austin shops.

The specials are available daily from 3 to 5 p.m. and again from 9 p.m. until close, and deals include $10 Kirin pitchers, $2.50 frozen drinks and nonalcoholic beverages, plus $5 snacks like crispy karaage and pork gyoza.

Uchi

One of Austin’s defining sushi restaurants offers an excellent sake social hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily, providing an affordable way to experience high-end sushi without breaking the bank.

Diners can indulge in discounted rolls, classic menu items, beer, wine, and sake. Sister spots Uchiko in Rosedale and Downtown’s Uchibā also get in on the fun with similar happy hour deals. Uchiko even offers a nine-course tasting menu for two for $120 during the same timeframe.

Holiday

This Govalle bar’s happy hour only happens on Sundays, but it’s a damn good deal.

All martinis, including the frozen Mexican martini, the espresso martini, and the dirty martini — are half-off from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m inside the cute dining room or outside on the spacious patios.

Shore Raw Bar & Grill

If driving Downtown for an oyster fix during rush hour sounds like a nightmare, this West Oak Hill seafood restaurant is another excellent destination for happy hour, where raw bivalves are half-off on weekdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Plus, there are other discounted bites like grilled oysters, shrimp cocktails, and mussels and fries. Drink deals include discounted cocktails, $8 house wines and sangrias, and $2 off beers.

Loro Austin

Available from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, the South Lamar Asian smokehouse’s happy hour menu comes with discounted foods, like the caramelized onion brisket cheeseburger, smoked chicken wings, and pulled pork tostadas, alongside $5 frozen cocktails, yuzu spritzes, beer, wine, and sake.

North Austinites can also rejoice in a similar happy hour at the new Domain Northside location from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Jack Allen’s Kitchen

All locations of Jack Gilmore’s New Texan comfort food restaurant offer a solid happy hour full of half-off appetizers and dollar-off of all drinks. In addition to this location in Oak Hill, Jack Allen’s offers spots in Cedar Park, Round Rock, North Shoal Creek, and Davenport Ranch West.

Happy hour is from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays. Be sure to check out its daily specials, which most recently included $7 hush puppies, $23 blackened shrimp pasta, and an $11 apple bourbon pecan cobbler after 4 p.m.
