A Popular U.K. Persian Restaurant Coming to Fulton Market

A popular U.K. restaurant is setting up shop in Chicago for the first time at Soho House in Fulton Market.

A Popular U.K. Persian Restaurant Coming to Fulton Market

Iranian restaurant Berenjak will open its fourth location in partnership with Soho House and JKS Restaurants, the group behind two-Michelin-starred Gymkhana, in late September. In 2018, chef Kian Samyani started Berenjak as an homage to his childhood memories in Tehran frequenting kebab shops and enjoying expansive family-style meals.

True to the craft of Iranian kebabis, Berenjak centers charcoal grills and large-format dishes sopped up dipped with baskets of crispy breads. Since then, Berenjak experienced a meteoric rise marked by securing a Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendation during its first year of opening in London and clinching a coveted spot on Dua Lipa’s favorite London restaurant list. Currently, Berenjak operates three London locations with expansions in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and the U.S.

Fans of Berenjak, or Persian cuisine more generally, can expect the cherished staples: rods of charcoal-grilled meat skewers, cauldrons of lamb khoresht, and platters of spiced mezze. However, Berenjak Chicago diners will have access to a unique beverage program with an extended wine list and cocktails previously only available at locations in the U.K., according to a release.

Some specialties include a savory olive leaf martini and bubbly watermelon cocktail. The opening at the private, members-only social club on Fulton Market’s Green Street will be Berenjak’s third partnership with Soho House across the pond.

With JKS Restaurants, Berenjak began a residency at NYC’s Dumbo House available only to members in 2024, and opened a garden-level location in LA’s Soho Warehouse in August 2025. Eater LA’s editors notably gave it a warm reception. Chicagoans need not fret — accessing Berenjak won’t force you to break the bank by signing up for a membership at the ritziest place in town.

Like Soho House Chicago’s public-facing offerings the Allis and Fox Bar, Berenjak Chicago will be completely open to non-Soho member laypeople.
