Vanda Botanical Desserts Has Matcha Noodle Gelato

This dessert made waves in Japan last year, and so I was thrilled to finally try it myself at 313 Somerset. Their Matcha Noodle Cone ($6.80) comprises a generous portion of matcha noodle gelato atop a separate gelato base of your choice.

It’s then topped with Granola, Cereal, or Biscoff—whatever tickles your fancy! Take note that this new item is served in cone form only.

For your gelato base, there are a total of 12 flavours split into four different categories: Signature ($3.80), Premium ($4.80), Super Premium ($5.80), and Gourmet ($6.80). Their Signature flavours include Black Sesame and Chrysanthemum Goji Berries, while popular Premium ones include Coconut Panda and Salted Caramel.

If you don’t mind splurging on some good gelato, opt for the Super Premium Yogurt Raspberry and White Chocolate Matcha, or the Gourmet Pistachio and Single Origin Vanilla Bean. Back to the matcha noodles: in terms of texture, there isn’t a stark difference between this and regular matcha gelato.

Also, we recommend scooping it with a spoon to avoid a mess! Their matcha gelato is on the sweeter side and not so much bitter, with mildly earthy and grassy flavours. Vanda Botanical Desserts is located on the first floor of 313 Somerset, and stands beside Tsuta Japanese Dining.

As far as we know, the Matcha Noodle Cone will be on the menu for good. But in any case the item gets taken off, be sure to try the viral gelato ASAP.
