We Tried McDonald's New Spicy Tomato Chicken McWraps And Lemon Creme Pie

Another day, another McDonald’s launch! We were one of the lucky few who got a sneak peek at the new Spicy Tomato Chicken McWrap, a tangy and spicy twist on the fast food chain’s fried chicken wraps.

Available from 7 August 2025, 11am onwards, these limited-time-only items are priced from $9.15 for an Extra Value Meal. The wraps come in two varieties: the Spicy Tomato Chicken McWrap and Spicy Tomato Buttermilk Chicken McWrap.

While both feature a whole-muscle chicken thigh, the latter is coated in a crisp buttermilk batter. Both are combined with lettuce, purple cabbage slaw and of course, the Spicy Tomato sauce, all wrapped in a soft wholegrain tortilla.

Do note that these will only be available after breakfast hours! We think the Buttermilk version is the better of the two.

Because the buttermilk batter is milder and even sweeter, it allows the tangy and tart goodness of the tomato sauce to shine through. There’s also a slight spicy kick to lift the flavours, though the heat is manageable in this wrap. Interestingly, the meat in the original Spicy Tomato Chicken McWrap tasted spicier than the Buttermilk version.

We found that this detracted from the tomato sauce aspect, so if you want a better balance of flavours, the other option is your best bet. Either way, we appreciated that each piece of fried chicken was sizable, crispy on the outside, and reasonably juicy on the inside.

The refreshing veggies also quelled some of the heat. McDonald’s wraps aren’t the only dishes receiving the Spicy Tomato twist.

The Spicy Tomato McSaver Meals (from $5.20) see the Beef, Filet-O-Fish, and McChicken elevated by this piquant new sauce. It also comes with fries and a drink, making this meal both wallet-friendly and hearty.

On 7 August, another treat will be making its debut: the Lemon Creme Pie (from $1.95). The classic McDonald’s pie gets a zesty new filling that’s encased in the warm, flaky pastry we all know and love. The lemon custard middle was creamy and fragrant, complementing the crispy pie crust.

And on 14 August 2025, the Potato Pops, McDonald’s take on tater tots, will be returning! They will be available all day round—you’ll just need to top up $1 to your meal to get these crispy treats!

On that same day, the Strawberry Soft Serve is also making a comeback and will be available all day at Dessert Kiosks and participating outlets around the country. For a famous Filipino chain with loaded wraps from $5.90, read our Shawarma Shack coverage.
