Poster Bakes creates buns for a good cause

Recognising that good food can bring a community together and raise money for a good cause, last July we shared the news that the homelessness charity The Connection had launched a social enterprise – Poster Bakes. The charity, which helps Londoners move away from the streets, teamed up with St.

The team’s Christmas mince-pie kits were a huge hit – and there’s good news for its many fans, as Poster Bakes is back with an Easter special. This time it’s hot cross buns on the menu, which are available to purchase between now and Easter (4 April this year).

As usual, they’re vegan, delivered straight through the post box and delicious (we’ve already tried them!) The dough is pre-made by head chef Coker and there’s enough for six buns, so all that’s left for customers to do is decorate and bake at home. No special skills required, and the instructions are very easy to follow.

All profits go directly to continuing the incredible work The Connection does each year helping to get young people off the streets. Specifically, the money will go towards running kitchen classes for people experiencing homelessness, giving them tools and knowledge to cook for themselves when they get a home.

There’s a limit of 35 orders a day and the hot cross bun kits can be shipped nationwide. Poster Bakes’ doughnuts are also still available, with flavours including vanilla sugar, blueberry cream and cinnamon spice.
