Brunei to showcase coffee, matcha, tourism offerings at Sabah Expo

KOTA KINABALU (Aug 28): Brunei Darussalam will showcase its coffee and matcha offerings as well as tourism experiences at the 11th Sabah International Expo (SIE) from Sept 4 to 6. The Tourism Development Department under Brunei Darussalam’s Ministry of Economy will participate through the Brunei Darussalam Pavilion at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here.

The three-day programme will feature the Brunei Coffee Trail alongside the Visit Brunei Year 2027 Roadshow, bringing together coffee. Matcha café operators, tourism service providers and visitor attractions from Brunei. Visitors will be able to sample Brunei products, discover its café scene and learn more about tourism destinations and experiences in the country.

Following the encouraging response to the Brunei Coffee Trail held in Kota Kinabalu in August 2025, this year’s programme will feature more participating operators showcasing their signature coffee and matcha offerings. Visitors enquire about products at one of the booths.

Tourism service providers and visitor attractions will also introduce destinations and experiences to visitors planning trips to Brunei Darussalam. The participation is part of the Tourism Development Department’s efforts to strengthen Brunei’s presence in regional tourism trades while providing opportunities for local businesses and entrepreneurs to promote their products and services to a wider audience.

It as well supports preparations for Visit Brunei Year 2027, offering visitors an early look at the upcoming tourism campaign. The roadshow aims to position Brunei as a destination for weekend getaways, family outings, food-focused trips and leisure holidays. Members of the public attending SIE are invited to visit the Brunei Darussalam Pavilion at SICC throughout the three-day event.
