With the Circuit Breaker came the rise of many home-based businesses, some so successful that they managed to open physical cafes. Guilt is one of them, delivering thick and chonky IG-worthy cookies that rival Nasty Cookie’s.

LUNA is a dessert cafe at Amoy Street selling trendy cakes such as their Orh Nee ($8) and Hazelnut Caramel ($8.50). The former is a surprisingly light one which has layers of fluffy vanilla sponge and chunky mashed yam in between. The latter is a total opposite with its dense and bittersweet chocolatey layers and Valrhona Guanaja 55% chocolate ganache.

Located at the NEWest mall, Simple Cafe offers Taiwanese cafe vibes with delicate, minimalistic cakes that are made for the ‘gram. Dolc Patisserie got so Instagram-famous that our writer made a beeline for it weeks after it opened. The reason why it caught all the attention was because of its intricately designed tarts.
