This Food Truck At Cineleisure Orchard Serves Vegan Burgers And Wraps

Food trucks are said to be a greener way of running a food business, since they expand less energy than conventional eateries.

And so it’s about time that Singapore has a food truck that also serves more sustainable fare. Thanks to vegan food brand Quick Greens, that is now a reality.

Parked outside Cineleisure Orchard, the chrome vehicle you see above is Singapore’s first 100% plant-based food truck. It serves Quick Greens’ full menu, which is also available at their Funan Mall outlet. All items are suitable for vegans, vegetarians, and flexitarians alike.

We got to try two dishes at the food truck, the first of which was the Vegan Sweet Heat Stack ($15.80). Inspired by the flavours of South America, the burger contains roasted peppers, lettuce, tomato pickles, and spiced chipotle sauce to complement the vegan patty.

While the bun was a little dry, the patty was ‘meaty’ and savoury enough, and the smoky chipotle sauce added flair to the dish. Our second dish was the locally-inspired Laksa, Lah! Wrap ($13.80).

Central to it is the vegan laksa dressing, which was piquant enough that the rest of the wrap—vegetables, porcini-garlic pickles, quinoa, and vegan kebab—boasted the noodle dish’s unmistakable flavour. The vegan kebab didn’t leave me longing for the real thing, while the fresh vegetables added a refreshing touch.

As you’d expect from a food brand committed to sustainability, Quick Greens’ beverages are organically produced. The Gusto Sicilian Lemon Yuzu ($5.50) was our favourite, especially with its strong lemon flavour and citrusy yuzu notes.

Quick Greens has a few exciting giveaways for the month of July, so head over to their website if you’d like to find out more. If you’d like to try vegan bubble tea, check out Mong Cha Cha Cafe.
