Gyutan-Tan Opens At Ngee Ann City With Outlet-Exclusive Afternoon Tea And Gyutan Hamburg Curry

Gyutan-Tan opens at Ngee Ann City with exclusive afternoon tea In late 2022, Gyutan-Tan began trading their first outlet in Singapore on Tras Street . Following the successful rollout, they have now threw open its doors a second outlet at Ngee Ann City with new, outlet-exclusive additions to the menu.

Gyutan-Tan Opens At Ngee Ann City With Outlet-Exclusive Afternoon Tea And Gyutan Hamburg Curry

Headlining the slew of new items is their Afternoon Tea Set ($42++) , which is available each day between 3pm and 5:30pm . There are only 10 sets of this tea set daily! The afternoon tea set is dominated by Japanese sweets, with a duo of mini gyutan slider and egg and ham sandwich being the only savoury items.

Then, there are seven sugary treats, some of which will be switched out for other sweets on a weekly basis. There’s also warabi mochi , house-baked chocolate cake , and dango with strawberries on a mellowly sweet azuki base.

Our set came with mikan daifuku , which is imported from Japan, and slices of house-made butter cake . Noteworthy is the tiramisu , which features coffee jelly and a coffee-soaked cake base, all made in-house.

My favourite item on the dessert sampler was the home-made egg pudding , which you can in addition order off the a la carte menu at $8++ : it was silky smooth, and paired with a caramel syrup that was just the right touch of toasty-sweet. Blended with white chocolate, the matcha fondue was neither too bitter nor sweet, and was a nice complement to the selection of dango, warabi mochi, fresh strawberries and grapes, and butter cake to dip in it. There are new savoury items on the a la carte afternoon tea menu here.

We were unable to try the Roasted Gyutan and Caramel Onion Sando ($16++) , where the beef tongue is said to undergo a three-day brining process, but we did try Teriyaki Chicken Sando ($10++) . $10++ is rather wallet-friendly for what you get: an ultra thick cut of chicken thigh in savoury teriyaki sauce with mayonnaise and sliced red onions between toasted shokupan. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this, especially the red onions, which were sweet and not raw-tasting at all. Snacks-wise, go for Sweet Potato Daigaku Imo ($8++) , which come with a light, crunchy exterior.

Alternatively, Japanese Potato Salad with Stewed Gyutan ($12++) sees a potato salad topped with shredded stewed gyutan that added a moreish, meaty depth to the creamy mix. Another Ngee Ann City exclusive is Gyutan Hamburg Curry ($26++) , which stars a thick patty of gyutan, beef and pork on mugimeshi, AKA rice studded with barley.

Come at lunch and this is served as a set, paired with salad and oxtail soup. If you’re just looking for a quick coffee fix, Gyutan-Tan at Ngee Ann City debuts a take-and-go counter, where you can pick up drinks including Yuzu Cold Brew ($7.50++) , where a citrusy yuzu cream is layered atop cold coffee. We hear that you can get a sando to go and weekly updated bentos too, made a la minute!

Alternatively, you can head to Gyu San Charcoal Bar for A5 Wagyu hamburg with unlimited rice and soup under $25!
