The taco breading is amazing: We could dive right into this crispy schnitzel!

Schnitzel is always a good choice, but have you ever tried it with a coating of crispy taco chips? That's exactly what makes this recipe so special!

Ingredients · Servings 4 people
  • 1/4 bunch of parsley
  • 1 kg potatoes (preferably waxy)
  • Salt
  • 100g Taco Chips
  • 2 Owner (Gr. M)
  • 1 tbsp horseradish (jar)
  • 4 pork schnitzels (approx. 120 g each)
  • Pfeffer
  • 5 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 onions
  • 1. Butter
  • 50 g Butter
  • 250 milk
  • 100 g sour cream
  • 300g frozen peas
  • freshly grated nutmeg
  • 100 g clarified butter
  • Chili powder
Method · 45 min
  1. Wash the parsley, shake dry, pluck the leaves from the stems and chop finely. Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into large chunks. Cook the potatoes, covered, in a small amount of boiling salted water for about 20 minutes.
  2. Crumble the tacos, whisk the eggs and horseradish in a shallow bowl. Season the schnitzel with salt and pepper. Coat each schnitzel in 4 tablespoons of flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the taco crumbs.
  3. Peel the onions and finely dice one. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a saucepan and sauté the diced onion until translucent. Add 50 ml of milk, sour cream, and peas, bring to a boil, and simmer for about 5 minutes. Slice the remaining onion into rings and dust with 1 teaspoon of flour.
  4. Warm 200 ml of milk. Drain the potatoes. Add 50 g of butter, the warm milk, and a little nutmeg, then mash. Keep the mashed potatoes warm. Heat clarified butter in two large frying pans and fry the schnitzel for about 5 minutes, turning occasionally.
  5. Remove the schnitzel, keep warm, and fry the onion rings in a hot pan, turning occasionally. Season with salt and chili powder. Arrange the mashed potatoes, peas, and schnitzel on a plate. Sprinkle with the onion rings and parsley.

Schnitzel is always a good choice, but have you ever tried it with a coating of crispy taco chips? That's exactly what makes this recipe so special!

Instead of classic breadcrumbs, the schnitzels get a flavorful chip coating that becomes wonderfully crispy when fried, providing a truly unique crunch. They're served with creamy peas, smooth mashed potatoes, and golden-brown onion rings. This exceptional crispy coating is paired with classic side dishes that are always a perfect match.
