We tried snacks at gas stations: The selection is wide everywhere, but the bet on meatballs for 69 CZK is definitely worth it
Stopping at a gas station is no longer just about filling up. Today, gas stations offer a surprisingly wide range of refreshments, but not all of them are worth trying. I tested three popular hits and will reveal where you absolutely must stop on your way to vacation.
Snacks on the go
The second holiday month invites trips or vacations. The weather has been great, so all we have to do is choose a place we want to see, get in the car and go. We usually expect in advance that we will have to stop along the way for our needs.
Some of the most important are hunger and thirst. That's why I looked at three well-known gas stations to see how they satisfy our appetites. I tried to choose food in a way that everyone could choose from. Judge for yourself how successful I was.

Bet on a tip from a friend
The first place I visited was the ÖMV gas station. Although I don't usually stop here, I got a tip from a friend who raved about the meatloaf in a bun they sell. He compared it to the classic one offered at one of the supermarkets, so I had to add this gas station to my list.
At first glance, I was a little scared and thought that my friend had tricked me. In an ordinary bun, there was a large slice of minced meat with a little mustard, and I didn't see anything special about it. However, my opinion changed radically after the first bite, when I discovered that even such a simple dish, when prepared well, can do more than some expensive dishes.
At ÖMV they have opted for quality meatloaf, which, combined with a toasted bun, will please every tastebud. Even if you don't refuel here, stop by at least for this delicacy for 69 CZK. I don't think you'll leave with just one piece.

A hot dog is a must
Since hot dogs are one of the best-selling foods at every gas station, it would be strange if I didn't include them in my selection. I decided to go to an Orlen gas station to see if they could prepare this classic in a way that met our taste requirements and also offer something new.
I realized that they wouldn't have a problem with the latter at this gas station the moment I saw the selection of sausages they could serve you in a roll. I reached for the white sausage and instead of the traditional mustard or ketchup, I chose Belgian sauce.
And it was she who, combined with a well-toasted roll and a tasty sausage, completed a great meal, for which the requested 85 CZK is certainly not an exorbitant sum. If you are not a fan of this type of sausage, you will definitely choose another type of sausage or sausage at Orlen and you will be as satisfied as I was with this unconventional combination for me.

Something lighter for ladies and "non-massagers"
Since it's not just gentlemen or meat lovers who travel, I reached for something lighter, you could even say vegetarian, at the MOL gas station. When I saw a tortilla with an egg omelette for 79 CZK in the display case, it was clear to me that this was exactly what I had to try.
The lightly baked tortilla tastes very fresh, because inside, in addition to the aforementioned omelet, you will also find tomatoes and arugula. On the other hand, you have to take into account that this is more of a breakfast dish than a full lunch. However, it could be enough for some as a lighter dish.
The pleasant meal has only one drawback, and it's shared by virtually all filled tortillas. There's relatively little filling compared to the dough, so you end up eating a dry tortilla at either end. But that's definitely not a reason to reach for something else.

How is it at the pumps?
A trip to the gas stations has finally become a pleasant probe into the range of refreshments that you can indulge in if you travel somewhere by car. I have to honestly say that compared to the past, when you bought the most bizarre baguette for a lot of money, today you can indulge in really tasty food that will not only fill you up, but also offer a pleasant experience.
