Ibiza Essence opens in Giessen with Mediterranean cuisine and Spanish influences
Said Saban Alazami opened a tapas bar in Frankfurter Straße in Giessen, offering modern interpretations of fish and meat dishes.
Said Saban Alazami recently opened his own restaurant, "Ibiza Essence," at Frankfurter Straße 84. The chef, with several years of experience in Ibiza's culinary scene, specializes in Mediterranean cuisine with Spanish influences. In addition to classic tapas, the menu offers modern reinterpretations of fish and meat dishes.
Alazami worked in Ibiza at places like Agroturismo Atzaró and Es Caliu. He also claims to have cooked privately for prominent figures in the entertainment and sports worlds. The experiences from that time shaped the concept of his restaurant.
Alazami initially arrived in Giessen with a different project: he was going to take over the kitchen of a Spanish restaurant and renovate it. However, he had long wanted to have his own business, and with "Ibiza Essence" he has made that dream a reality.
Alazami also participated in the design of the premises. Together with his wife, he developed the furniture and design details, combining modern lines with elements that evoke a Mediterranean atmosphere.
The menu includes classic Spanish tapas such as patatas bravas, garlic shrimp, and grandma's homemade croquettes. In addition, the kitchen offers sea bass with roasted cauliflower and black garlic aioli, and pluma (pork tenderloin) prepared with Iberian pork and seasonal vegetables. There's also steak with a modern take on patatas bravas, and for dessert, crema catalana and pistachio coulis.
The wine selection also has a Spanish influence: Rioja Joven, Rioja Crianza and Rioja Reserva, Ribera del Duero Roble and Crianza, as well as white and rosé wines such as Rioja Blanco, Rioja Rosé and Marqués de Vizhoja Blanco.
