This charming sushi spot serves London’s most affordable premium sushi – with dishes starting at just £1.80 each

Hidden away in the middle of the city, surrounded by tourist traps and speed-walking Londoners scoffing at holidaymakers, is one of London’s best sushi secrets.

This charming sushi spot serves London’s most affordable premium sushi – with dishes starting at just £1.80 each

Sushi Like is a charming, unassuming spot that quietly serves up some of the best value premium sushi in the city. And you won’t want to miss out on their food.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Surely, we don’t actually want our sushi to be too cheap?

Maybe it’s okay to pay a premium price for a premium product – especially when eating raw seafood? And I get what you’re saying. By and large, I even agree.

But Sushi Like has somehow cracked the code to be able to serve up top-notch temaki at incredibly affordable prices. You could have a meal here for less than a glass of wine at a nearby pub!

And it’s made to order right in front of you. In their own words:

“We want to give guests a valuable dining experience by using the freshest and highest-quality cuts of fish, vegetables, and other ingredients…. Our mission is to make Japanese temaki handroll sushi accessible and affordable for all who visit our restaurant.”

On the menu at Sushi Like

Sushi Like is a little different to some other sushi spots in the city.

Where Londoners have likely become used to maki rolls and nigiri selections, Sushi Like specialises in temaki. This is a special type of sushi, hand-made to order, that is also known as a handroll.

Rice is topped with premium ingredients before being wrapped in sushi, and then delivered directly to the diner by the chef. At Sushi Like, the temaki selection starts at just £1.80 for the Tofu Spinach Temaki.

The a la carte temaki selection ranges widely across ultra-premium ingredients such as Uni (sea urchin), as well as the likes of Tempura Ebi (prawn), Unagi (grilled eel), King Crab, O-Toro (fatty tuna), and more. And if you can’t decide, just opt for the Temaki Set Menus. These start at just £8.99 for the 4-piece Vegetarian Collection, and max out at £19.50 for the 8-piece Temaki Set.

Or you can go all out and try almost every single temaki on the menu, and grab 15 pieces of temaki for £58. (If you’d ordered them all individually, you would pay £63.10!) It’s important to note that the menu can change based on seasonality and availability.

But it will still remain incredibly affordable! Suffice it to say, you’ll want to move this to the top of your list of London restaurants to try.

But bear in mind, there are no bookings – you’ll just have to try your luck when you walk in! 📍 21 Great Castle Street, W1G 0HY.

🚇 The nearest station is Oxford Circus.
