Church’s Texas Chicken launches Big Deal Boxes

The Technomic Top 500: Another tough year for chain restaurants Top 500 chain restaurant sales slowed again in 2025 as consumers cut back on dining, but sectors like coffee, beverages and snacks and chicken thrived

Church’s Texas Chicken launches Big Deal Boxes

Church’s Texas Chicken has added Big Deal Boxes to its menu, with prices starting at $5. They include the 2PC Real Big Deal Box: two pieces of hand-battered fried chicken (leg and thigh) or two hand-battered tenders with the choice of dipping sauce, served with two regular classic sides, a signature Honey-Butter Biscuit, and a jalapeño pepper.

There is also the 4PC Wings Real Big Deal Box, with four bone-in wings (original, spicy, or seasoned with the choice of a dry rub) served with two regular classic sides, a Honey-Butter Biscuit, and a jalapeño pepper. With this launch, Church’s joins its chicken competitors in adding value boxes to the mix.

Just this week, for instance, Popeyes brought back its $6 Big Box for the second time this year, featuring the choice of two pieces of signature chicken or three tenders, plus two regular sides, and a buttermilk biscuit. In March, KFC introduced Box Feasts, available in $7, $9, and $11 options.

KFC also added a Popcorn Chicken Big Box in July, with 6 ounces of Popcorn Chicken, plus two tenders, medium fries, a medium drink, two dipping sauces, and a chocolate chunk cookie for $10.99. And, in June, Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken celebrated its 60th anniversary with a limited-time, 10-piece bone-in chicken box for $19.66 — a nod to the year it was founded in Lima, Ohio, by Lee Cummings and Harold Omer. Beyond the value offerings, Church’s is also testing Chicken & Waffles in select markets in Texas, Georgia, and Florida.

A Big Deal Chicken & Waffles Box includes two pieces of hand-battered fried chicken (leg and thigh) or two hand-battered tenders with the choice of dipping sauce, served with two regular classic sides, two waffles with syrup, and a jalapeño pepper. Prices start at $6.

Customers can also choose 10 pieces of hand-battered fried chicken (leg and thigh) or 10 hand-battered tenders with the choice of four dipping sauces, served with 10 waffles with five syrups. Prices start at $16.99.

This test comes on the heels of Chick-fil-A’s Chicken & Waffles Sandwich launch last month, and about a year after KFC brought back its Chicken & Waffles for the first time in five years.
