Fiesta Latina returns to Zagreb: A week of Latin flavours, music and street food

The second edition of the festival will transform Trg Josipa Jurja Strossmayera into a Latin-inspired food and entertainment hub, with 11 food and drink stands, daily DJ performances, dance programmes, workshops and free entry. The festival will bring together a selection of Croatian chefs and street-food concepts, offering everything from Mexican tacos and Peruvian ceviche to Cuban sandwiches, churros and Latin-inspired desserts. Among the participants are Tres Tacos by Mario Mihelj, Noel Street by Ivan Temšić, Taquería Cato, Street Food by Tom Gretić, Sabor by Soirée, Papoy Latina by Matija Pavlic and Cubano by the Institute for Burgers and Mate Janković.

Visitors can expect Mexican classics including tacos, elote and esquites, while chef Mario Mihelj will introduce new birria tacos and a spicy pork combination. Tom Gretić will serve Mexican-inspired burgers and choripan, while Papoy Latina will showcase Peruvian dishes including ceviche and anticuchos.

Noel Street, the festival concept from Zagreb Michelin-starred restaurant Noel, will return with chef Ivan Temšić’s contemporary interpretations of Latin American dishes, including chicken mole tacos, pork empanadas, tuna tostada and corn ribs. The drinks programme will feature tequila, mezcal, Micheladas and cocktails created by bartender Filip Lipnik, including Palomas, Pina Coladas and several original creations.

Free dance workshops will be held by Hrvoje Kraševac from Fever, Plesni centar Zagreb by Nicolas and Mega Dance, while culinary and cocktail workshops will feature Mario Mihelj, BBQ Hot Yard and Filip Lipnik. At the weekend, Exotic King by Ivan Šulog will add tropical fruit including papaya, passion fruit, dragon fruit, lucuma and young coconut.
