The Shepherd’s Pie Has A New Baked Satay Chicken Pie With Island-wide Delivery

The comforting combination of buttery carbs and aromatic meat has long served its purpose as a hearty dish for me. Be it frozen or freshly made, the halal-certified pies from The Shepherd’s Pie are also a convenient solution to many meals and gatherings. In view of the upcoming Ramadan in the month of April, as well as the days leading up to Hari Raya Puasa on 24 May 2020, The Shepherd’s Pie has rolled up their new Baked Satay Chicken savour.

Delivered in 9-inch trays which serve four to six people each, these freshly prepared pies now go for a promotional price of $35.90 (U.P. $38.90) . There’s as well free island-wide delivery with a minimum spend of $65 for those who are stuck at home during the Circuit Breaker period.

This can easily be hit by ordering at least two of their 9-inch pies. Residents near Bedok North who don’t need the shepherd’s pie delivery can opt for self-pickup daily between 11am and 6pm instead. Relish in familiar satay flavours of turmeric, cumin, and a hint of ginger in each spoonful of the Baked Satay Chicken pie.

The medley of sauteed chicken, carrots, and onions combines surprisingly well with the layer of mashed potatoes atop. The countless shepherd’s pie attempts I’ve made at home rarely come out of the oven with a crisped layer. I’ve nailed them in terms of taste, but never have I succeeded in terms of texture.

Unlike my one-dimensional pile of gooey pie, every one of The Shepherd’s Pie’s dishes boasts an air-brushed browning of crisped mash at the top, giving each mouthful a nice textural condiment. For those who prefer a more classic version of shepherd’s pie, there’s as well their Baked Lamb Special ($43.90) .

This pie features the time-honoured mix of vegetables, herbs, and ground lamb under the same creamy and buttery mashed potato layer. If you’re a sucker for sweet and savoury combinations, there’s even a Baked Teriyaki Chicken ($37.90) pie as well.

Single-serving pies such as the Frozen Classic Chicken Personal ($8.90) and Frozen Classic Beef Personal ($8.90) are also available for those who prefer a smaller tray for individual portions. Just pop them into an air-fryer or even a toaster oven to heat them up for a quick and filling meal. There are also 9-inch frozen ones which can be kept in the freezer for up to six months.
