Nanyang Dao Opens In Tampines With Legit Malaysian Food—Penang CKT, Curry Mee And More

If you love Malaysian food as much as we do, save this up-and-coming spot: Nanyang Dao, a popular Malaysian eatery, has opened at Century Square!

This marks the brand’s eighth opening; its other outlets include Hillion Mall, PLQ Mall, Anchorvale Village and more. Nanyang Dao specialises in Malaysian fare, so you can expect all the classic Malaysian hawker favourites here. A must-try is the Seleyang Big Bowl Curry Mee ($9.90++), where a huge bowl of yellow noodles is topped with beancurd skin, boiled egg, fried pork belly, prawns and more, then doused with a rich and hearty curry gravy.

The Penang Fried Kway Teow ($7.50++) is another signature. Stir-fried with bean sprouts, prawns, fish cake, and lup cheong, this hawker staple is said to boast a good level of wok hei.

For something more sinful, order the KL Hokkien Mee ($7.80++), comprising thick noodles fried with an umami-packed dark sauce, cabbage, fish cake, pork slices, and prawns. Other popular mains include Penang Assam Laksa ($7++) and Nanyang Fried Nasi Lemak ($9.90++), where fragrant coconut rice is paired with ayam goreng berempah.

Complete your meal with a refreshing bowl of Chendol ($3.50++), loaded with coconut milk, gula melaka, red beans, and pandan jelly. Otherwise, get their buttery Puff Pastry Egg Tart ($2.60++), which looks similar to the ones served at the famous Malaysian chain, Oriental Kopi.
