Don Don Donki Has Free 1KG Bluefin Tuna Don If You Finish It Within 10 Min

Don Don Donki has bluefin tuna don challenge at JEM

Don Don Donki Has Free 1KG Bluefin Tuna Don If You Finish It Within 10 Min

If you consider yourself a fast eater, or perhaps even something of a budding competitive eater, listen up.

Don Don Donki’s sushi restaurant, Sen Sen Sushi, recently launched its Mega Blue Fin Tuna Don Challenge for the month of December. Take on the challenge of finishing a 1kg bowl of bluefin tuna don in just ten minutes—succeed, and the bowl is yours for free!

You’ll also get a certificate for your valiant effort. From what we’ve seen online, the Don Don Donki bluefin tuna don is packed with various cuts of bluefin tuna, which you’ll usually find on some of the tuna sushi that Sen Sen Sushi offers.

Crucially, all of that rests on top of a mountain of sushi rice, which is the biggest stumbling block for anyone trying to finish the bowl within the stipulated duration. Should you fail to wolf down this donburi in time, the meal will set you back $44.80++.

There’s a consolation prize, however: a free Sen Sen Sushi shirt. Do note that this challenge will only be available for the first five contestants of any given day, so do drop by earlier to ensure you can attempt the challenge.

If you don’t fancy your chances, it may still be worth checking out the fare at Sen Sen Sushi. The restaurant is known for serving sushi on a high-speed conveyor belt, which we found to be genuinely faster than those at most sushi chains.

We recommend you get the aptly named Recommend Oshi Sushi ($6.80++), which features Salmon, Shrimp, Conger Eel, and Pickled Mackerel. Each sushi is hand-pressed, resulting in a compact, rectangular shape. During our visit, all four pieces were delectable—we appreciated the combination of the sweet and vinegary milled rice with the freshly seared seafood.

Find out the best Don Don Donki savoury snacks to get while you’re at the Japanese supermarket, including cheese mochi and choc-potato chips. Also, read up on the best Don Don Donki desserts to try, such as Hokkaido souffle swiss rolls and grape ice balls.
