Great Nanyang Heritage Cafe Opens New Outlet In Kent Ridge With Curry Fish Head And More

When our team was invited to Great Nanyang Heritage Cafe in 2023, we thought this old-school kopitiam eatery in Tanjong Pagar was something else. From the quaint ambience to the delicious, wallet-friendly offerings, there’s plenty to love about them.

Following their successful second opening in Somerset, the popular eatery is slated to open their third outlet in Kent Ridge, between early and mid-April 2025. You can look forward to several outlet-exclusive menu items at the newest branch: the interesting Lok-Lok Style Fresh Rojak, the lesser-seen Steamed Roti, and the flavour-packed Penang White Curry Noodles.

They are also rolling out classics such as the Penang Asam Curry Fish Head! While we don’t have much information—prices included—about the new items yet, we’re confident that the Kent Ridge outlet will offer steady sellers such as the Signature Hainanese Chicken Cutlet ($15.90+), featuring a tender, well-marinated boneless chicken leg meat paired with a house-made gravy.

If you’re all about old-school breakfast, get their Traditional Kaya Butter Toast (from $2.70+), which gives you the option to change your bread to a Thick Toast ($3+) or Wholemeal ($3.50+). It’d be remiss of you to leave without trying their popular drinks, with more than 20 different kinds to choose from. Out of the lot, we recommend the bittersweet Hor Ka Sai (from $3+), starring a mix of coffee and Milo.

Else, the Kopi (from $2+) is a safe choice that will surely give you the caffeine boost you need. Great Nanyang Heritage Cafe’s third outlet at Geneo, Singapore Science Park will open by early to mid-April 2025. We’ll update this space with more information soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
