Alessandria looks to Milan to attract new tourists: the Le Vie del Gusto project

Le Vie del Gusto, promoted by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria, aims to transform the area's gastronomic and wine heritage into a tourist destination.

The Le Vie del Gusto project was officially launched on Monday evening in Milan, at the Mari&Co venue in the Ripamonti district. The dinner brought together representatives from institutions, producers, local operators, journalists, communications professionals, and guests from the world of culture and entertainment. The aim was to transform local excellence into a tool for attraction and development, and not just a heritage to be preserved.

Milan was not a random choice. The city is an hour away, and its grandeur shouldn't overshadow a region that, in some ways, still remains untouched and eager to tell its story and be discovered.

The evening took diners on a journey to discover the flavors of Alessandria's diverse regions: Gran Monferrato, Alto Monferrato, Strada Derthona, and Gavi. Wines and truffles took center stage. Barbera, Grignolino, Gavi, and Timorasso wines were paired with vegetables such as cauliflower, endive, and squash, and complemented by the white truffle, a symbol and queen of local cuisine. The aim was to bring to the table a province where wine and gastronomy interact with the landscape, history, villages, art, and culture.

For the Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria Foundation, the Milanese evening is not a destination, but the beginning of a journey: to take Le Vie del Gusto beyond its borders and transform the curiosity that the region arouses into an invitation to visit and experience it.

“It was a wonderful evening,” remarked Paolo Arrobbio, president of the Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria Foundation, “which allowed us to present to a select audience of industry professionals not only the gastronomy and wine, but also the tourist and cultural excellence of the province of Alessandria: a region that deserves to be visited and enjoyed at a leisurely pace, to fully appreciate its history, beauty, wellness offerings, and quality of life. Through the Le Vie del Gusto project, the Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria Foundation has decided not only to promote a series of events, but also to build a permanent model for territorial development, capable of generating new economic opportunities, strengthening local identity, and consolidating the position of Alessandria, Monferrato, Tortona, and Terre del Gavi among the leading destinations for Italian gastronomic wine tourism.”
