Serve sushi bake
We previously made a version of this dish with shrimp, and believe us: that one is also addictively delicious.
This easy dish is also perfect for a dinner party and is kid-friendly. Spoon the salmon sushibake onto individual plates, or place the baking dish on the table and let everyone serve themselves. Serve it with crispy nori sheets and slices of cucumber and avocado to create small bites with the ingredients. Basically, a kind of handrolls without the rolling!
Recipe: sushi bake with salmon
- Cook the sushi rice according to the instructions on the packaging. Mix with the sushi vinegar and cover with a tea towel to keep the rice warm.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and prepare an oven dish.
- Cut the salmon into small cubes (not too finely) and mix them with the sriracha, mayonnaise, and soy sauce.
- Arrange the sushi rice in an oven dish and sprinkle with furikake, if desired. Place the salmon on top.
- Next, place the salmon sushi bake in the oven and bake for 10 minutes, until the top comes out lightly browned and bubbling. Optionally, turn on the grill for the last 2 minutes so that the salmon develops a crispy crust.
- Meanwhile, cut the spring onion into thin rings and the cucumber and avocado into slices. Also, cut the nori sheets into bite-sized pieces with scissors.
- Remove the baking dish from the oven and get the sriracha and mayonnaise ready again. Drizzle both sauces over the salmon sushi bake and sprinkle with the spring onion and, if desired, some furikake for extra umami and texture. Serve with the avocado, cucumber, and nori sheets.
