Cafeteria, creperie and ice cream workshop a stone's throw from Arles station
Margaux Friocourt, who has settled in Arles with her ice cream maker certificate, brings together in one place galettes, crepes and organic farm milk ice creams.
The place is a neighborhood café, a well-run crêperie, and an ice cream workshop using carefully selected ingredients. The ice creams and sorbets are made with whole milk from an organic farm in the Auvergne region.
The flavors include coffee from Cafar, on the next street over, from Brûlerie Möka in Marseille, vanilla from the plantations of Zanzibar, and grapefruit from La Crau. The dining room has mosaics and the terrace, umbrellas: a charming spot, almost on the beach, to enjoy an ice cream after a crispy crepe.
During the visit, we sampled a buckwheat galette, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, topped with a fried egg, Comté cheese rubbed with Vin Jaune, and generously grated bottarga, accompanied by a small salad. For dessert, we enjoyed a soft ice cream of matcha and toasted vanilla.
The galettes cost between €14 and €17, a scoop of ice cream €3.50, and soft serve €5. A half-liter to go costs €12.
Between the crepes, ice cream, and coloring books, the place is ideal for children of all ages.
