The Hit-Making Restaurant Team Behind Cervo’s and Hart’s Is Opening an Oyster Bar
Bar Meridian, which sits at the corner of Prospect Heights and Crown Heights, is closing on April 30 after five years. But with a prime address like this one, it’s no surprise that another team has already signed on to take over the space, located at 406 Prospect Place and Grand Avenue.
Bar Meridian, which sits at the corner of Prospect Heights and Crown Heights, is closing on April 30 after five years. But with a prime address like this one, it’s no surprise that another team has already signed on to take over the space, located at 406 Prospect Place and Grand Avenue.
Nick Perkins, Leah Campbell, and Nialls Fallon confirm they’re going to be opening something new there, still unnamed. They’re flipping the former Bar Meridian into a dedicated oyster bar and hope to open by the end of 2025.
The trio is behind some of the area’s most beloved restaurants: Hart’s (once a Bon Appétit Best New Restaurant in America) and the Fly, both over on the other side of Brooklyn’s Atlantic Avenue, as well as their Lower East Side hot spots, Cervo’s and Eel Bar, in Manhattan. With the exception of the Fly, a chicken rotisserie spot, their restaurants are devoted to seafood in some form or another (so much so that the hospitality group started their own line of tinned fish, Minnow, a few years ago). Now, they’re carrying that raw bar theme over in Prospect Heights. This is the team’s first opening since adding Eel Bar to their portfolio in 2024.
Gillian Graham, chef of Hart’s and the Fly, and Taylor Ward, the group’s wine and operations director, will both be partners in the new Brooklyn project.
