Tre de Tutto Roma: an all-day bar in Garbatella with craft beers, homemade gin and tonics, and vinyl records

Tre de Tutto Roma. Opened, or should we say reopened, in October 2020 in Piazza di Sant'Eurosia, right across from the arches that starred Nanni Moretti in the film Dear Diary. Tre de Tutto began life seven years ago in the Centocelle neighborhood with outdoor seating only, craft beer, cocktails, and platters. The project was launched by young partners Daniele Notte and Mirko Tomassi, who, once their adventure began and their professional bond had strengthened, succumbed to the temptation to expand the space and the project. Despite their very different personalities, the two complement each other, explains Mirko: "Where I can't reach, there's Daniele, who better partner to help Tre de Tutto develop and grow?"
Why Garbatella? "It was the format and the people who live and frequent it that suggested the neighborhood to us when we were looking for the right location. Tre de Tutto could initially only exist as a small location in Centocelle, and later in a larger one, right in Garbatella." The space that now houses Tre de Tutto has been vacant for years and was previously a historic neighborhood bakery. The name was initially born as a joke. Daniele and Mirko wanted to represent abundance, multiplicity: tre de tutto, in fact.
The restaurant's interiors were designed by Tamat, which blended various design trends, combining geometry, raw materials, and color. In fact, they explain that "Many interior design magazines have visited the restaurant." Tre de Tutto features a street/industrial, modern style, and even a few 1950s touches. And soon, they confide, the pastel pink and yellow chairs inside will co-star in a TV series. Tre de Tutto seats approximately 60 inside and 30 outside, with two rooms and a double entrance on Piazza di Sant'Eurosia.
At the entrance, the LED sign "How beautiful is Garbatella" (and it really is), the porcelain plaster counter, the rough walls, and the bottle rack. Tables next to the windows, a '90s arcade game (inherited from Tre de Tutto Centocelle) and a record player: "This is the first step to creating a living room corner with a sofa and vinyl records where you can listen to music of your choice." In the second room, the yellow stairs, custom-built by a craftsman, the geometric wallpaper, and the school-style tables, almost like desks in an old classroom, stand out. Given Daniele's passion for music, the place is equipped with a sound system that allows different sounds to be heard throughout the rooms.
But Tre de Tutto isn't just about design. It starts at 7:30 with coffee, waffles, and pancakes (€5). It continues with an aperitivo, where tradition remains the same: craft beers, wines (€5 for a glass, starting at €16 for a bottle), champagne (€6 a glass), non-alcoholic drinks (€7-8), and cocktails. These include classics, signature drinks, and the option to create your own gin and tonic by choosing the type of gin and tonic (from €8 to €12).
During Tre de Tutto's golden hour, a coffee platter (sampling sandwiches, cold cuts, and mini pizzas) is offered alongside drinks. The menu also includes appetizers for those who want to continue. These include fried chicken and mayo (€3.50), mozzarella in carrozza with marinara sauce (€3.50), and bruschetta tre de tutto (€3.50 for two pieces).
In the kitchen are Marco Pezzavecchia and Emanuele Luciani, both with extensive experience in the restaurant world. The seasonal menu features several reinterpretations of traditional dishes. On the menu: roasted artichokes with parmesan fondue, bacon, and crusty bread (€9), tonnarelli pasta with white duck ragù (€12), and rabbit cacciatore roll with its own sauce and turnip tops (€16). Also on the menu are burgers, such as the Montegreen, a 180g burger with sautéed chicory, buffalo mozzarella, and mayo (€12), or the Mountaingnola: breaded chicken cutlet with bacon, chetar, caramelized onion, and BBQ (€10). Desserts include seadas (traditional Sardinian pasta, €6) and tiramisu with macine (€5).
"Courage was ours, but also theirs," Mirko and Daniele say of the entire staff, emphasizing how important the group is, especially in times like these. The new venture in Garbatella is the result of "Daniele's fondness for the relationship with his customers and the desire to share his passion for good food and drink in a family-friendly environment," Mirko concludes. Tre de Tutto is open seven days a week, from breakfast to dinner, from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
